Through the years BPS have supported many different charities and have supported local communities. The BPS team do not shy away from challenges and are always ready to face trials; all with the aim of raising maximum funds for our chosen charities.
This summer, BPS took part in the gruelling Wolf Run on Sunday 3rd September 2017 to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. The Wolf Run is wild running which combines off-road running, mud runs, trail runs and obstacle courses. It’s an exhausting 10K run across raw natural terrain including open ground, lakes, thick mud and woodland.
The BPS team had to tackle many different tough obstacles which are designed to test mental and physical strength, stamina and skill. The team had to run, jump, climb, crawl and swim through the course designed to challenge individuals on every level.
A target to raise £1,500 was set by BPS. The team trained tirelessly for months in advance to take part in the challenge and to ensure they would complete every single obstacle in the course.
After all the blood, sweat and tears and with your generous support not only did BPS hit target, they beat it by £500! Bringing the total funds raised to £2,000.
We chose Macmillan as our nominated charity back in 2014. Many of us have been deeply moved by the effects of cancer as we all know someone who has been suffered or is suffering from this horrible disease, whether it be in our work environment, through family and friends or maybe even personally.
Following on from our charity bike rides, coffee mornings and football matches to name but a few, a team of 20 of us took part in the challenging Wolf Run this month – a gruelling 10K obstacle course.
We are proud to say we raised £2,000 smashing our £1,500 target. We want to take the time to thank everyone who has been involved in helping us to raise money over the past few years for such a worthy charity. There have been highs, lows and so much laughter along the way but, above all, we’re proud to support such a great cause and continue to organise events and challenges in our bid to reach our £10,000 fundraising annual target.
